The human microbiome is made up of all the genes of bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microorganisms that inhabit our gut and digestive tract, our lungs, our genitals, our mouth and nose and parts of our skin. We call those cells our microbiota.

Your body is inhabited at least by as many non-human microbial cells as you have human cells (some say up to 10 times more!). Some are good, some are bad and some are just plain opportunistic. The important aspect is balance and harmony between all these cells.

We are familiar with the concept of pre and probiotics in food. Prebiotics such as oligosaccharides are ingredients that good microbes thrive on and grow on whereas probiotics are live bacteria that support a healthy microbiota.

Similar terminology is used in skin care. Skincare also uses postbiotics. Extracts or by-products of the fermentation of other microorganisms. They provide a cosy environment for our microbiota to grow.

Yes they are. From nature to nurture. These are products that we not only develop, but that we use on a daily basis. Our products are made from natural plant extracts, minerals, oils, pre-biotic and post-biotic ferments. They are made without harsh preservative, super allergen, perfume (that hide multiple tricky ingredients) and without toxic chemicals.

Some separation may occur in any product. This will not make the product less effective or bad, it is simply a natural process when different ingredients are part of a mixture.

The tonic serum holds minerals and proteins in suspension that readily precipitate. This is why you need to shake the bottle gently before each use.

The cleanser holds a lot of air which gets incorporated into the product during the normal manufacturing process. This is calculated during packaging. Once you open the tube, the air is push out before the cleanser.

Mild tingling or mild heat may be present during the first uses of the cream, it is normal. If after a week it hasn’t subsided, you should seize use for a week and retry.

No. No animal testing other than family and friends. All of our products are vegan, 100% cruelty-free.

No. Probiotics are stabilized and suspended in a liquid without water that does not allow these microorganisms to grow. They will activate once the product is applied to your skin.

Prebiotics and postbiotics are not living organisms and as such cannot grow.

Our products have a stability of 2 years and a shelf life of 6 months once they are open. For maximum shelf life, keep products away from direct sunlight.

We source the highest quality ingredients from suppliers located in Canada, whenever possible. We don’t compromise on quality, and if necessary, we also source from international markets for ingredients that we cannot find locally. All have sustainable and well-documented sources of supply.

When the skin is in a dysbiosis, it will help to restore the balance, but the duo is not specifically designed for severe skin problems. For severe acne eczema or psoriasis, please consult your dermatologist, the product could be used with medication.

For mild to moderate perturbations, like mild acne or irritations, the duo will work well. Use a bit more tonic serum for acne.

Although safe, the cream is not designed to be used on the sensitive area around the eyes. It is not recommended to put the product close to or directly in your eyes because it could lead to an irritation.

We chose aluminium tubes because aluminium can be reprocessed and reformed endlessly without losing any of its quality. Our bottles are made of reusable and recyclable glass. We also use compostable materials and natural fabrics for the packaging. We have eliminated retail boxes.

Currently, the only plastic we can’t prevent comes from our caps, which can be recycled. We are still looking for alternative solutions!

We typically need 2 business days to ship. After that, it depends on the destination. Most customers should receive their order within 7 business days of purchase.

However, there are times when we need more time to ship, as we are still a small team. If we have a sales spike (for example, around the holiday season), order processing times may increase to 10-14 business days.
